Who’s Who On Ragged Isle

Vicki Burke (Meghan Benton)Recent college graduate Vicki Burke (Meghan Benton) is embarking on a new career in journalism on Ragged Isle, a remote fishing community off the coast of Maine. She soon finds herself swept up in a mystery involving the strange deaths of island residents.

Sheriff Dalton (Rick Dalton)Sheriff Dalton (Rick Dalton) grew up on Ragged Isle, and continues to call the island his home. As the island’s sole resident lawman, he takes it upon himself to the lead the investigation into all the island’s crimes, small and large.

Rachel Moody (April Joy Purinton)Rachel Moody (April Joy Purinton) runs the Ragged Isle watering hole The Glass Jaw. She has a very friendly relationship with Sheriff Dalton, whom she calls “Rick.”

Paul Soucey (Ian Carlsen)Paul Soucey (Ian Carlsen) is the captain of a Ragged Isle lobstering vessel manned by a crew of his three closest friends. They make the grave mistake of fishing in the “restricted zone” off the tip of Ragged Isle, possibly setting off a devastating chain of events.

Eric Burke (Michael Dix Thomas)Vicki’s twin brother, Eric Burke (Michael Dix Thomas), works on the crew of his best friend Paul’s lobster boat. He and Vicki used to be inseparable, but they have drifted apart over the past four years, after she went to college and he moved to Ragged Isle.

Mac (Dominic Lavoie)The third man on Paul Soucey’s lobstering crew, Mac (Dominic Lavoie)
is loud, outgoing, and gregarious, with a juvenile sense of humor and somewhat poor impulse control, which may just get him into trouble one of these days.

Dirty Bill (Doug Porter)“Dirty” Bill (Doug Porter) is the final man on Paul’s crew. He’s more of a follower than a leader, looking to Eric or Paul for cues on what he should do. That may or may not be in his best interest.

Madame Clelia (Kathryn Morrison)Some people on Ragged Isle call Madame Clelia (Kathryn Morrison) the Island Witch, while others thinks he’s just a harmless eccentric. Either way, most islanders steer clear of her. But it is she more than anyone on the island who may have the powers and foresight to rescue them all.

Harrison Shaw (Todd Manter)While it’s true that lobstermen don’t have bosses, all the lobstermen of Ragged Isle must work in the shadow of Harrison Shaw (Todd Manter), who has exclusive deals with every seafood distributor on the mainland. Shaw wields his power with a stern hand. He has a quick temper and a long memory, and lobstermen know better than to cross him.

Louis Gilbert (Adam Cogswell)Louis Gilbert (Adam Cogswell), a nervous, superstitious fellow, regularly visits Madame Clelia for spiritual guidance. He’s perhaps a surprising choice to be Harrison Shaw’s protégé, but Shaw hand-picked Louis himself, grooming the young man to take over for him “when the time comes.”

Vance Trundle (Denis Fontaine)For the past 15 years, Vance Trundle (Denis Fontaine) has been editor and sole employee of island’s newspaper, The Ragged Isle Star. He may sometimes seem scattered and disorganized, but he’s actually a sharp newspaperman and something of a muckraker, using the paper to champion the working man and skewer the establishment.

Deputy Dan Therrien (Erik Moody)Driven young lawman Deputy Dan Therrien (Erik Moody) is brought to the island by Sheriff Dalton to help investigate a baffling murder case on Ragged Isle.

Rose Fuller (Beth Saufler)Rose Fuller (Beth Saufler) is a beloved island figure on Ragged Isle. Everybody loves Rose for her gentle humor, her generosity, her good common sense, and her homemade pies.

Julie Katsarakis (Amie Marzen)Newly elected chairwoman of the island council, Julie Katsarakis (Amie Marzen) is a young woman filled with energy and optimism. She is inseparable from her closest confidante and mentor, Rose Fuller, whom she thinks of as a second mother.

Gertie Kendrick (Suzanne Rankin)Best-selling author Gertie Kendrick (Suzanne Rankin) writes extremely popular and authentic historical fiction, all taking place in Maine. She lives in seclusion on Ragged Isle with her young assistant, Trevor Stebbins.

Colleen Drake (Christine Louise Marshall)Town librarian Colleen Drake (Christine Louise Marshall) can almost always be seen at town functions, taking in everything with a watchful eye. She cares for the books in her charge like a mother taking care of her children.

Gordon Manette (Mark D. Lennon)Gordon Manette (Mark D. Lennon), a headstrong young lobsterman, has lived on Ragged Isle his whole life, but still doesn’t seem to realize that it’s a bad idea to speak ill of Harrison Shaw in public.

Dylan Strang (Daniel Robert Clark)Dylan Strang (Daniel Robert Clark) is one of the many Ragged Isle lobstermen who just do their work and mind their own business. But soon after strange things start happening on the island, Dylan begins behaving in a most peculiar manner.

Summer Skye (Mimi Sorg)Summer Skye (Mimi Sorg) is the TV news reporter assigned the “island beat.” Every year, she covers Ragged Isle’s annual talent show and lobster festival.

Sebastian Carlsen (Sebastian Carlsen)Sebastian Carlsen (Sebastian Carlsen) is the son of lobstermen parents, but rather than follow in the family footsteps, he has taken a job as a store clerk on Ragged Isle. He also enjoys a semi-career as a stand-up comic, doing the occasional gig in clubs on the mainland.
